When researchers choose to submit educational resources or originally created content, they acknowledge and agree that the submission is suitable for learning and teaching purposes as described within KOREN’s Submission and Content Policy, Granting Permission for Originally Created Content, and OER Lesson Plans. Submissions are considered to have enduring value for multiple users when understanding various fields within Kinesiology.

By submitting content, researchers consent to the permanent online preservation of these materials. This may include the names and institutional affiliations of authors and co-authors (if provided). The submitter’s professional email address will be collected as part of the submission form and will be handled in accordance with confidentiality and professional data non-disclosure policies. KOREN avoids disclosing personal information that could cause harm or bring distress to those who contribute towards KOREN.

Types of Professional Data KOREN May Collect from Researchers

When researchers submit originally created content to KOREN, they grant permission for copyright licensing as part of the submission process by assigning a Creative Commons License (such as CC BY-NC or CC BY-NC-ND). These licenses require proper attribution to the creator. As part of this process, certain professional details may be collected and displayed on the website —particularly through the use of in-text citations and reference lists. This typically includes the author's last name, first initial and when (year) the works were originally created, which is part of standard citation practice within APA style formatting. 

Storing Researcher Information 

When submitting originally created content to KOREN, the following professional information may be collected and stored:

  • Author(s) name
  • Submitter's email address
  • Submitter's academic institution, organization, or federation.
  • Area of Research
  • Research resources

Purpose and Legitimate Interests in Storing Data

KOREN collects and saves Professional Data submitted by researchers and other resource contributors to support its educational mission, vision, and values. This includes the archiving of research, management of submitted content, and the delivery of credible, high-quality professional resources that serve public interests regarding sport, health, and wellness.
